Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator
The Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator (SAF) serves as the primary contact and connection point for stakeholders seeking support in sustainable practice change.
The Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator (SAF) is your key point of contact for support in adopting sustainable land management and climate-smart agricultural practices across the Southern Queensland Landscapes region. Our SAF's work directly with landholders, industry groups, and community organisations, supporting the transition to practices that improve natural resource outcomes, enhance climate resilience, and unlock opportunities in carbon and biodiversity markets. They also provide the latest unbiased information about environmental and carbon markets, market access and on-farm emissions reduction. Additionally, SAF's share government resources, policies and programs, including tools, funding opportunities and relevant training events.
As part of a national network of facilitators embedded within Australia’s 54 regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) organisations, our SAF's work locally while contributing to a nationwide effort to build resilience and sustainability in agriculture. These NRM's, recognised by the Australian Government, are not-for-profit organisations committed to the long-term health of Australia’s landscapes and communities.
Through the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program, the SAF helps deliver:
• Guidance on natural resource management and regenerative practices
• Information on carbon farming, biodiversity markets, and on-farm emissions reduction
• Support to access government grants, tools, and training opportunities
• Independent advice tailored to your enterprise or local landscape
