WHY IS IT SPECIAL?
Spanning 314, 398 square kilometres, (30% bigger than the state of Victoria) our region unites the Condamine catchment, Queensland Murray-Darling Basin,
South West and Mulga Lands.
Within these areas are 61 National Parks, 56 Nature Refuges and 109 state forests. Our region also contains 262 unique primary regional ecosystems, 1,162 animal species, 4,309 plant species and 991 fungi species existing in six bioregions. Needless to say, it's a special corner of Queensland.
